First Tesla Model S electric car rolls off the production line.

Tesla is expected to go to the market soon in India after its boss Elon Musk’s revealed new updates about the future of the model.

Elon Musk, chief executive officer of Tesla, during an interaction with journalists here, said the company has been working to bring its EVs to the Indian market.

Musk said Tesla Model S is the first electric vehicle in the world to enter mass production and to receive five stars overall by the US government agency, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“We are looking to go to India, it is a great opportunity,” Musk said.

Tesla has already established its infrastructure in the country.

Responding to a query about Tesla’s plans to bring in its next-generation car – the Model 3 – to India soon, Musk said: “I think we are going to try and bring that model too. It’s all about where you have the right demand”

He also said that Tesla would not push for a price-war in the market but would rather want to create a charging infrastructure for the EV-s at competitive price.

“We want to price our charging at a competitive price, maybe even below gasoline price,” Musk said.
